Farewell Kenton

Scott and I are always wondering if Annie has said her first word. She says mama and dada but we kindof think she is just babbling. One thing is for sure: her first word is now KENTON. I wouldn't believe it until I heard it with my own ears. She looks right at him and says it clearly. Kenton is such a great uncle and takes good care of Annie, he even took her grocery shopping to give me a break once. We went down to UT for his farewell and are sure gonna miss this guy. What a bittersweet feeling when a missionary leaves.

Kenton's going to the San Pedro Sula, Honduras mission. He flies out the exact same day my other little brother, Jake, gets home from Chile.

Kenton and our cousin Conner leave at the exact same time for the exact same mission. We almost thought it was a mistake. Here they are enjoying some of their last few days.

We got to go boating with Kenton. It was a beautiful day but a little windy so we pulled out the good ol water weenie and had a blast.

Annie, Kalia, and Claire. It's so fun to watch them play together, although they all have a secret desire to poke each other's eyes out.

Annie's been doing a lot of traveling latley and has become quite attached to her soft blankie. But she's a champ and adjusts pretty well.

Goodbye little Kenty, see ya in 2 years!! sniff sniff...

If anyone wants to write him:

Oh Darlin don't you ever grow up..

"Your little hands wrapped around my finger
And it's so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyelids flutter 'cause you're dreaming
So I tuck you in, turn on your favorite nightlight

To you, everything's funny
You got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have, honey
If you could stay like that

Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh, darling, don't you ever grwo up, don't you ever grow up
It could stay this simple

I won't let nobody hurt you
Won't let no one break your heart
No, no one will desert you
Just try to never grow up, never grow up"
Taylor Swift

Annie is now one! It's a bittersweet thing watching her grow. I love to see who she is becoming and what she can learn, but I will always miss the tender newborn stage. I am an awful photographer but decided to take a picture of her month birthday every month. Watch her grow:

11 Months!

Annie turned 11 months last week. She's our little sweetie, excpet for when she wants to nurse. Then she bites and cries(we are in the process of weaning her). She loves walks, pulling out baby wipes and tissues, her momma and daddy, and swimming. She is still our scooter bug and has no interest in crawling or standing. She does what she wants and we love her silly personality!

Here's a good shot of her 5 little chompers. Scott has crooked teeth and I have gappy teeth so we thought our children would have a chance. Instead her front teeth are gapped and her bottom are crooked :). That's a laugh/cry she's got going on.

Annie is still mesmerized by Kidsongs and a little bit of Elmo. Deathly terrified of Little Einsteins though and I have no clue why. She must have had a bad dream or something. At least she's warmed up to balloons.

This little mover is getting harder and harder to take pictures of! Here she is in all her tissue pulling glory.

4th of July was an amazing week...I also forgot my camera. Scott and I went down to Utah and had a wonderful time. We swam, went walking and biking up the canyon, I helped with a bridal shower for one of my best friends Roo, Had Bryce, my mom, and dad's birthdays, BBQd, got to meet Stephen's cute girlfriend and eat at Tucanos...the list goes on. My parents spoil us and I love just hanging out with my siblings!

We then got the sad news Scott's uncle Mark passed away so he went home on Tuesday to work while I stayed in Utah and then joined me on Friday for the funeral. It's always sad to see a loved one go. The funeral was really inspiring and put a lot of good perspective back into our lives. What a great man.

4th of July was sweet, just the way we like it. The BEST (don't argue) fireworks show (Scott and I stopped in WY and bear lake on the way down), bbqs, family, girl's dessert trip, and boating all day. Annie had her first boat ride and loved it, and then fell asleep. I am thankful for this free country and for a wonderful family.

Annie, Grandpa, and Kalia. These babies sure love their grandpa!

I LOVE SUMMER!!! Now to rest for a couple weeks before the madness of August hits..

5 years!

We did it! Not that we ever thought we wouldn't...but we made it to 5 wonderful years! It's amazing how much your love can grow every day and in different ways.

For our anniversary we went down to Utah. We were able to go to a nice dinner and watch the Summerfest fireworks while my parents watched Annie. We also got to go to the parade, canyon, and play with cousins! Here's the best cousin shot we could get.

And we went to see this guy. He just got back from Hawaii and let me do his hair. I always wanted a little sister :)

Cotton candy for Annie!

Annie and Kalia enjoying the parade. But mostly the cotton candy.

And we sold our trusty little civic. It was a sad day. I didn't know you could be attached to a car. My parents gave us the car when we were engaged. We went through a lot in it. Our first car, drove clear across the country, brought home Annie in it... so many memories. It was a blessing we sold it so fast and now have our new bigger car to enjoy (rav4) so hopefully it likes its new family!

10 Months!

I can't believe Annie is 10 months!! Ok, I say that every time, but it really does go by too fast. She had no desire to smile or hold still for pictures. She's still not crawling, but fully mobile. She scoots on her bottom in a sitting up position (see facebook for video) or steamrolls. She loves her toys and to tip anything over. She is quite the adventure and Scott and I can't get over how much we love it.

Grant and Annie after a Sunday stroll.

Our billy goat.

Annie and Papa!

I forget Annie can move sometimes. I found her in the shoe closet the other day (yes, the bottom of our pantry is our shoe closet).

First motorcyle ride. But really it was a razor. Scott's already trying to train her.
