                                                               John Mayer

What's a summer without vacations and family!? I recently flew up to Washington with my mom to spend  a week at my grandparent's house. While I was gone Scott took my little bros. to a John Mayer concert with Colbie Callet opening. Jelous. They had tons of fun and tried to lose their voices.  After my mom left I stayed with my grandparents and had a quiet weekend until Scott flew up for his family reunion (Scott's family lives in the same town as all my mom's family). The first day we picked up Scott's brother Stephen up from the airport. He was returning from his mission in Korea!  The next day we went boating at Fish Hook Lake, then the next we went to the Hydroplane races. After that we had lots of family gatherings and his sister Amy's 27th birthday. It was a crazy but awesome week.  And really good to see family!

LAKE POWELL LOVE

Over the 4th of July weekend, Scott and I went with my fam, some cousins, and some neighbors to Lake Powell for a full week.  We camped (no houseboat) and had an amazing time! Me, Scott, and my little brothers took a trip on the waverunners to our old spot we used to camp, "Blue Lagoon".  Since the water is so low now, we had to hike way back in. In our secret spot when we were little, we found all our old carvings from when I was 13 years old. Ok, so back then I defaced Lake Powell, but it was worth it to come back!
The peace sign I used to think was cool that my cousin Matt could draw.

The Journey Home

Well, we decided to leave NY and come home to Orem to finish out the summer.  We had an amazing time in NY and will miss good friends but we were ready to leave.  My family and us went to Palmyra and got to go to the Sacred Grove. From their they flew home (lucky ducks) and we made the long drive. We stopped in Kirtland and Nauvoo and got to see the sites and go to the temple. It was a long drive but fun for Scott and I to get to spend so much time together! And it was so good to see the Rocky Mts.!!!  The slideshow below is pics. of the drive home.

Check out my Slide Show!

New York

Our Two Year Anniversary! We went to Wicked to celebrate early, but on the actual day Scott took me out to breakfast, then we both had to work. After we went to dinner and a movie. We had such a great time! Two years flew by for us and we are excited for more to come. I love the quote, "Happiness is being married to your best friend."  I had people warn me that the first few years of marriage were really hard and a big adjustment, but we just love it!
My mom, two younger bros, sister, and her darling baby came to visit for a week. We spent two days touring in NYC and having a blast. This is Scott and I kissing on top of the Empire State Building :).
View from the Top!
Just chillin at the beach.
We rode around both days in a double decker bus. It was quite fun.

WICKED!!

To Celebrate our two year anniversary a little early, we went to Wicked!!  It was AMAZING and worth every penny.  After it was over we wanted to stay in our seats and watch the whole thing over again. I would recommend it to anyone!! When we went to Manhatten it was very hot with way too much humidity, I'd take 110 degrees in Orem over 80 degrees out here in any day. After we barely made it to the play (we went to the train station and realized we forgot our tickets), we walked around for a while and ate at Planet Hollywood.  It was a great day, and it all started off with Scott singing a duet in Sacrament meeting, which was awesome!

Here is Scott next to the giant piano they used in the movie BIG, if anyone remembers it. He was pretty excited to see it and be able to touch it. I was a little disappointed it didn't actually play music. Planet Hollywood had some pretty sweet stuff in it.
Ok, so we weren't supposed to take pictures at the play, but we snuck one in before it started. It was pretty darn cool.

As for me, Kaylee, I am loving New York. I love sightseeing and only working part time. When I do work, I nanny for two little girls, Claire (7) and Lauren (5), I feel like I am six years old again. I play Barbies and mermaids and High School Musical II. When I play barbies we do one of three things, get married, go to the old west, or a bar. The girls are pretty spoiled but have their sweet moments. They call me KK. I took the girls out riding bikes and ended up getting a tick in my head. I pretty much thought the world was going to end, but I'm over it now. And I don't have Lyme's disease, at least no signs of it... I hate ticks. But other then that I just hang out and go to the pool or work on my online class. Very relaxing and wonderful.
The more Scott has to work, the more not so fond of the job he is getting. He is sick of being told no all day and the heat. I don't blame him. But we are having a great time and loving life and being married for almost two whole years!

Scott The Entertainer

For Memorial Day we went to a beautiful park and had a BBQ. It was tons of fun and we didn't even want to leave when it got dark...except for all the mosquitos and ticks (ticks are really bad out here, a lot of old people die from Lime's diesease, and a young lady in our ward with 3 kids under 8 just got Lime's disease and Rocky mountain fever from one tick and is very sick). After our bellies were full some guys pulled out the guitars and Scott got to jam for forever. It was so fun hearing him play...he misses his guitar out here I think more than anything else.

It started out as a few people...

and then turned to many!

The Tip of the Island

We decided to drive to the furthest tip of long island to see the first lighthouse built in NY state. It was commissioned by George Washington himself and is called the Montauk Point Lighthouse. We got to go inside of it and climb to the top. The house you see in front of the lighthouse was built for the lighthouse keepers and is now the home of the museum for the of the lighthouse. Way freakin cool. These pics are from the hike up inside. (notice Scott's hot lighthouse sweatshirt! It was so freezing we bought the cheapest one at the gift shop...I'll doubt you'll see him wearing it again =) )

Good Times

Happy Birthday to Scott! The day before Scott's Bday we had BBQ on Sunday at our house with lots of friends. It was his first birthday party. This is supposed to be Scott blowing out his candles...I (Kaylee) am not the best photographer. On his real Birthday I went and picked him up from work and got there after about an hour of being lost. We had an awesome night which included outback steakhouse...yumm. Thank goodness Scott got a GPS is all I have to say, the roads out here are awful!
I am famous! (sorta). All the wives of the working husbands got together and went to Good Morning America. I had to wake up at 3:15 am, bleh. It was worth it though. We made signs so we would get noticed and had a blast. One of the guys talking to us said we would be having a whole different experience if we were all single =). We got to see Prince Caspian and Susan (sorry, no pics.) and stand in the same spot for two whole hours.
Me and the two famous hosts that I forgot their names (even though I went to GMA I still have yet to watch it).
Ok, we're a little silly but we still like to think we are cool.
