Halloween Festivities

We hope you all had a scary Halloween! Scott and I went down to Utah and had a wonderful time! We tried going to a the Dreaded Grove, but the power went out so it was kinda lame. Halloween was a blast and just having a break from school and seeing family and friends was great. We got to go to Salt Lake and see my grandparents and go to the Old Spaghetti Factory...yum.

Our sweet pumpkin. I gutted it and Scott carved it.
My Scary Parents, aren't they cute! My dad dresses up as Frankenstein every year and decorates our house all haunted. He scares kids and makes them run away, so fun!
The girls were all witches, Boo!

Now don't laugh too hard. I made Scott dress up when he didn't want to. I opened a tub of costumes and told him to pick what he wanted to be. He decided to be a Village Person (singer of the YMCA, Macho Man, etc).
Kiera, Seth, and baby Kyla. Too bad I couldn't get pictures of everyone. My little brothers were Master Cheif and Bob Shwartsky which was pretty cool.

Me and the Kyla. Just look at those cheeks. She had about five suckers, I've never seen a baby so hyper!

Our death kiss.

No these are not our Halloween costumes. Long story...

Our new favorite country band is Lady Antebellum. We got to see them in concert for Idaho's meth project and it was so cool! We sat on the 7th row and got to meet them afterward...sortof.
Scott mixed the band for the Halloween concert. Don't ask me how he knows which button is which on the board. But he does and he was awesome.

Fall Fun

I love Autumn. And Halloween. Haunted houses, PUMPKIN flavored anything, warmish days and cool nights, the colors, dressing up, etc.

All week long I do school school school. I like it but I'm already to be done and it's only midterms. Weekends are Me and Scott's time to have fun. We made the journey to Utah over conference weekend, the next weekend Scott's mom and sis. Kym came to visit and we partied. We spent a night in a hotel and drug Scott along to all things girly. Last weekend our friends from Utah came up and we just played.

Over conference weekend my grandparents came from WA and my Aunt Becky and her baby Chancho :). We watched a lot of conference, and found creative ways to keep awake. My dear sister Kiera taught Scott how to cross stitch. He did it for about two minutes and was done, it was just too hard for him.

When the boys go to the Priesthood session they get to go to a nice dinner, and it is tradition for the girls to have a girls night out. My cousin Chelsea and Uncle Ben and his family came down, and we all went to gardner village and went shopping, a boy's worst nightmare. That place is so cute and the food is delicious!

Me, Chantal, and Kiera. We liked the yarn.

We went and braved a haunted corn maze with our good friends Mike and Kelly. I had heard it's supposed to take about an hour if you're good, and it took us about 15 minutes so I guess we're really good.
Scott liked to think he was supposed to scare everyone around him because the maze was haunted.

Who can pass up a good ol fashioned Halloween party? It was a Baird cousin party and it was good to see/meet so many relatives. Scott's Aunt Jean made delecious homemade spudnuts, a Richland, WA tradition.

The Bairds eating and eating and eating...those spudnuts were good.

On Sunday Scott and I went on a long drive up thorugh Twin Bridges to Kelly Canyon. It's so gorgeous up there and it was really good to just get out of the house becasue our days of being able to go outside without turning blue are numbered.

ps. I have troubles viewing my blog in internet explorer, it just doesn't load all of the way most the time. Does anybody else who uses explorer have that same problem?

Field Trip

Right now as I'm typing it is snowing outside, weird.

What's also weird is that I saw a huge dead black bear on the side of the road. Either bear world had a break out or wild bears have come to attack....
Anyway, Yesterday I got to go on a field trip!! I was excited like a little kid again. We left early, and made the 21/2 hour bus trip to a pioneer museum. We then headed to a cemetary and Soda Springs, cutting out our stop at a potatoe expo due to time. I slept on the bus ride there and back, while the other teachers were amazed that I could do that through the noise. Guess I was just really tiered. We saw some way interesting things, but here were my highlights:
This is my class in the wagon simulator. It bumped you around like you were really in a wagon, with cool ligt effects over the top of us. It was fun at first, until I started to feel a little sick and it just kept on going and going...
The purpose of the cemetary was for
the kids to see the wagon box grave. It is a place where after a family of seven were massacred, they were buried in the same grave all inside their wagon box with their belongings.
R.I.P
Outside of Soda Springs at the end of a long day.
This is Hooper Springs. It looks nasty but I guess it's safe to drink. Somehow under ground the water gets carbonated. We all drank some and it was pretty gross. Then we added kool-aide and drank our own strawberry pop! So cool!

Quickwater Ranch

Life is crazy and moving so fast! Thank goodness for weekends that give us a break from school for a little bit. Scott's job has it's perks, and this last weekend we were able to go to Quickwater ranch with Vocal Union for a retreat. It was beautiful, the leaves were changing colors and on the second day there was a huge thunderstorm. Being that we went with a music group, there was of course LOTS of singing, and if anyone knows my singing ability it's safe to say I got a LOT of homework done. Scott brought up a projector and we all wathced Mr. Beans holliday which I thougth was hilarious! It was fun getting to know the new group!

It was so beautiful! The camera doesn't do it justice.

We went on a hike and got all muddy.

We played some fun games, but this one was kind of corny. We had to go out blindfolded into the forest and be led to a "friend". Then we were supposed to be able to find it afterwards using our senses. My loving husband led me to a thistle and had me grab onto it.

So afterwards I made him poke his fingers.
This is some of VU discussing the game, it kinda felt like I was a beehive at girl's camp:), plus it was poring rain It was such a fun weekend and a great break!

Scott's BooBoo

We are officially all moved in and have started school!! Scott had a little accident. The day before school we mounted the projecter above our new to us couches. During the movie it all the sudden went dark and we heard a loud crash. We flipped on the lights and Scott is holding his head with blood dripping out from under his hands. The projector and the board it was on landed from a high place right on Scott's poor head! We took him to the emergency room and were there for 3 hours, till 1oclock in the morning. They were going to staple his head but since his hair was short for scarring purposes they did 11 stitches. He's doing just fine. For those of you who know how much I hate blood, I did just fine too. I've even been scrubbing blood out of the couch and wherever the last couple days. (thanks Mike and kelly for helping me out!)
School for us is going good. Just the usual. I'm doing my sr. practicum in IF in a 4th grade classroom. We'll see how that goes. And two math classes in a row, yuck. Scott is taking required classes, plus an intro. into hospital administration to see how he likes it and a mountain biking class. Our apt. is great, a little farther from campus than we are used to but we love it. Maybe I'll take some pics. later.

Cub River

Over Labor Day weekend and before moving up to Idaho, Scott and I went to the traditional Cub River fishing campout near Preston, Idaho. We had so much fun! My dad's cousin and some of his kids came, along with all my brothers and sister. We went on a hike up to where the stream started and all got a drink of the freshest water, MMMM! Kenton was the first to test the water, our little Bear Grills.
The two cooks and our massive steak feast! They finished cooking seconds before the rain started.
Just chillin. Kara, Me, Jake, and my Dad.
Seth, Kiera, and Kyla. I decided to be their family photographer.
My cute cousin Kara and I playing UNO. The last night we got rained out and hung out in the tents all night. When we went out to our tent to go to sleep, all our bedding was sopping wet. figures.

Fishing love!
Scott got really into it.
Every year I get made fun of for not catching a fish. I was determined this year and caught about 8. I decided to unhook my own fish...it took a couple screams and I dropped it once, but I was successful!
The two old men ;) who did all our cooking, cleaning, and planning for the trip. My dad and his cousin Kenny. This is them taking their daily nap.
On a hike. The log was very slippery.
